WHAT IS THE GREAT SLEEPOUT?
The Great Sleepout is a community initiative, organized
by Building The Road Home, to help end the homeless
crisis. Participants will sleep outside on cardboard,
sleeping bags, pillows, etc., as they experience what
thousands of homeless citizens endure each and every
night.
WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?
When you sign up you will make a huge difference in
the lives of thousands of homeless men, women,
children, and families, because your registration fee
and all the money raised from your donors will go to
funding emergency and transitional housing for those
in need.
HOW DOES IT WORK?

The first thing you need to do is sign up and register. You will provide your name,
email address, and phone number. You will also set your fundraising goal, choose
how many hours you will participate, and then pay your $25 registration fee.
Next, you will contact everyone you know and get them to sponsor you. Your sponsors
will have the option to pay $10 for each hour that you endure during the sleepout, or
they can just make a donation in your name. Make sure you share on all your social
media, at work, the gym, and everywhere you go, that you are participating so you can
gain enough sponsorship to reach your funding goal.
Lastly, just show up! Make sure that you are dressed warmly, as it is sure to be a cold
evening. Bring cardboard, sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, coffee, cocoa, or whatever
it takes to keep you comfortable throughout the night.
